Welcome to Dinner and Dessert, a Neopolitan pizzaria.  Dinner and Dessert specializes in authentic, italian  pizzas, as well as the traditional american favorite. our soups and salads serve as the perfect side to a warm slice of pizza or cheese bread.  Top off your meal with one of our refreshing fruit smoothies that are known to be the best in Ames.  The service is as warm and inviting as the pizza!

Our dough is made fresh daily in the restaurant, that is what everybody says but frozen dough is not fresh. For you we import our flour from italy which is 00 flour, low protien and way low in gluten this quality gives our dough that crunchy bite. Unlike so many other pizza place we dont use lard in the dough, we keep it simple water and fresh and active yeast which makes it easy to digest and good for your digestion system. Then we let the dough poof for 12 to 24 hours.

So that you get the best sauce, we specially import our tomatoes form italy. They are called san marzano tomatoes. They say that italians had grown this tomato specially for pizza. The study shows 2oz of san marzano tomatoes has more flavor then 1lb of domestic tomatoes. Other pizzeria uses tomato paste and citrus juice to give the flavor to their sauce whereas we use real and authentic tomatoes. we keep it simple.

To top that sauce we use cheese like 100% real mozarella, provolone, goat cheese, smoked gouda cheese, feta cheese, parmesan cheese.

So that you get the best pizza you had tasted we have toppings like artichoke hearts, eggplant, salami, proscuitto, arugola, fresh tomatoes, four kind of peppers i.e green, yellow, red and orange, kalamata olives and not just regular black olives, fresh mushroom not canned, we also have pepperoni for kids, hand pinched italian sausage, grilled chicken, bacon and many other.
